Corte dei Venti takes pride in being a small vineyard with large oak barrels, a long tradition, a pinch of madness and a lot of passion working as farmers and wine growers in Montalcino since 1943.
WINERY
The Pieri family bought the Piancornello farm, and at the end of the 80’s, part of the property passed to the owner’s daughter Silvana which was later passed down to her children: thus the Corte dei Venti company was born, in the southeast municipality of Montalcino, in the sunniest area of the Redlands, beyond the sea between Sant'Angelo and Castelnuovo dell'Abate.
VINEYARDS
Credit for good grapes is given to the wind. The name "Corte dei Venti" is derived from the confluence of winds constantly blowing in the area. Their presence allows a Mediterranean climate free of mists, which promotes the health of both the vines during the vegetative phase and the grapes during the harvest.
The vineyards are characterized by hilly terrain with steep slopes, rich in ferrous limestone clay, fresh and well-endowed with minerals and are influenced by winds from the sea which guarantee prolonged and optimal ripening of the grapes.
